MAKE Summer School was created by Freddie Main, Assistant Head, former Housemaster and former Head of Design & Technology at Merchiston, Edinburgh. Freddie has over 18 years of experience teaching D&T and brings the expertise and enthusiasm that has helped his pupils achieve great academic success. Each event is run by dedicated, friendly and enthusiastic teachers, some of them former Apprentices, and they ensure a safe and fun pupil-centred environment.
WHAT THEY DO
WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT
FREDDIE MAIN (Director of MAKE Summer School)
"I believe that all children should be encouraged to develop their natural creativity and have opportunities to experiment, play and just try things out. MAKE Summer School aims to give its 'Apprentices' the confidence to 'have a go' by offering practical activities that develop useful skills, are a lot of fun, and bring a real sense of satisfaction and achievement.
When we first launched in 2012 we thought the product was teaching children practical skills, but by the end of the first week it became very obvious that our product is, in fact, happy and confident children. This is something we are incredibly proud of."
